What's the Difference Between DUI & DWI?

While both DUI and DWI both refer to the illegal act of operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs, they are many times treated as separate crimes. DUI stands for driving under the influence, which usually includes different types of drugs. DWI stands for driving while intoxicated.
